videoclips from outskirt

These are all videoclips I made for my multimedia project Hox Vox, which is based on a relationship between experimental music and moving picture, and hosted on Hox Vox Youtube Channel Hox Vox Box as well.

Thar Desert v. 2.0 (2009)
Thar Desert is a 5/4 funk metal song from Outskirt (2008) by Hox Vox. Animation environment pictures were token in Egypt by Alberta Marchiori.
This is the HD 720p + other new 150 animations version of the clip; the other (the "relaxed version" :-D) is at the end of this videoclips series.

Belief: Wrath HD (2009)
Song is an hommage to "TBA" by Shinu Mazafakingu Ujimushi, an english grindcore band who recorded only that song on a Lo-Fi or Die compilation.
I replayed (almost) slavishly same drum sequence, with different timbers and sounds, and recreated the "roaring" with three violas. The result is kind of "Kronos Quartet plays Shinu Mazafakingu Ujimushi".
Video is a frenzy mix of die-cutted, muppeted, and rotoscoped people watching an Hox Vox concert.

Belief: Greed HD (2009)
Song is fifth movement in Belief suite from Outskirt. It's an hommage to "TBA" by Shinu Mazafakingu Ujimushi, an english grindcore band who recorded only that song on a Lo-Fi or Die compilation.

Jeanne d'Arc (2009)
Track is about a great female historical figure, Joan of Arc, juxtaposed to middle east singers, and a quirky muezzin.
I worked with paint effects on some footages about Crusades, Jeanne d'Arc and east europe (looking like a little middle east) singers. Track is, briefly, about the juxtaposition of western guitar arpeggios and middle east vocals.

Зимний дворец
(Zimniy Dvorets, the Winter Palace)(2009)
Soundtrack is a song from my album "Outskirt" (2008); I took St. Petersburg Winter Palace - left empty when Nicholas II and imperial family moved to Alexander Palace - as a hint to depict 1905 russian Bloody Sunday. With english and italian subtitles (see youtube options on the right side of play bar)

Intro (2009)
Intro is the opening track in Étoile (july 2009), which is a concept album about stars; but I put a little pondering before, about swines and their sad destiny, creating an operatic dadaist inferno - where pigs are menacing main characters.

Thar Desert (2009)
Thar Desert is a funk metal song inspired by Les Claypool odd funky basslines. Animation environment pictures were token in Egypt by Alberta Marchiori.

Belief: Greed (2009)
Soundtrack is third movement in Belief suite from Outskirt while video is an aged cartoon (token from Peyote video) about a 60s hippie having a peyote experience on a mexican mesa.
